Itvisma receives FDA approval in the United States

The US FDA approved Itvisma (intrathecal onasemnogene abeparvovec) on 24 November 2025 for patients with SMA aged 2 years and older in the US. Itvisma has not been authorised by the MHRA or reviewed by NICE for use in the UK, and is not currently available on the NHS.
